Kumble wants Indian youth to play in foreign leagues

Team India’s dream of winning another World Cup has been shattered once again. India (Indian Cricket Team) was defeated by 10 wickets against England in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup. Since this defeat, many have advised Indian players to gain experience by playing in foreign leagues. Although Indian coach Rahul Dravid did not want to comment on the matter, the speculations are not stopping. In the meantime, Anil Kumble, the former coach of India and former teammate of Rahul Dravid, asked for Indian stars to play in foreign leagues.

Many stars of the England team play in the Big Bash League. Many believe that the experience of playing in Australia in the Big Bash helped England’s stars perform well in the World Cup. Since then, many are suggesting that Indian stars follow the same path. According to Kumble, it is not a bad idea to give a few young stars an opportunity to participate in foreign leagues before the next World Cup. He said, ‘According to me, the experience of playing in different environments always helps the players. A lot of foreign stars participate in IPL and we all have seen the improvement in Indian cricket as a result. If we select young players suitable for the type of cricket we are interested in playing, there is no problem in giving them opportunities to play in foreign leagues. I think it’s important.’
