Lockdown has been extended in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and West Bengal till July 31 due to the continuous spike in COVID-19 cases and deaths.
The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday announced lockdown in the state from 10 pm on Friday till 5 am on July 13. All offices, markets and commercial establishments will remain closed.
Buses and other public transport will be off the road. However, special trains will continue to operate. Factories in rural areas will be allowed to work and works on roads, highways and expressways will continue. The decision has been taken in wake of the rise in coronavirus cases and deaths in the state. The state has so far reported over 30,000 infections and 845 fatalities.
