Maharashtra government receives request to extend operational timings for hospitality players

The Hotel And Restaurant Association, Western India (HRAWI) has submitted a representation to concerned Maharashtra government officials asking for an operational timeline extension for all F&B licensed entities on December 25 and December 31.

The request was made to extend operational time until 5:00 am on Christmas, and new years’ eve, for the hospitality players to increase sales on the backs of festive sentiments.

The association, representing the hospitality industry in Maharashtra, has also promised to maintain strict rules for safety and adhere to protocols to ensure the well-being of guests.

“As we approach the joyous celebrations of Christmas and New Year, the hospitality industry looks forward to welcoming guests with open arms. We at HRAWI recognize the significance of these festive occasions and, while prioritizing the safety and comfort of our patrons, we respectfully request the Maharashtra Government to extend the operational hours for hotels and restaurants until 5 a.m. on December 24th, 25th and 31st, this year,” said Pradeep Shetty, President of HRAWI.

The hospitality body has appealed for a prompt and positive response from the government to allow hotels and restaurants enough span of time to plan and organize activities around these significant events.

“The extension of timelines, consistently, year after year, will lead to a larger number of seasonal tourist inflow to the state, helping restaurants to plan packages and programmes, which in turn will lead to a generation of higher revenues to the State and additional employment,” said Shetty.
