Maharashtra’s touch on Ganesh Chaturthi this time in Siliguri

Ganesh Puja is just a few days later. At one time, there were only a handful of Ganesha pujas in the city of Siliguri. But now Ganapati Bappa is worshiped there in grandeur. But this year, the biggest Ganesha idol of North Bengal is being made in Siliguri. A giant Ganesha idol is being made on the model of Maharashtra. Siliguri Pradhan Nagar Ganesh Puja Committee is celebrating its fourth anniversary this year. This club of Siliguri is making a 30-foot statue. The artists here are making this Ganesha idol. Along with this, there is also a surprise in the lighting.

From the year 2021, some youths of the main city area started this Ganesh Puja together. From the beginning, they had in mind that one day they would organize Ganesh Puja on a grand scale like in Maharashtra. So this year the budget is increased by five lakh rupees. Apart from the residents of the main city area, many people from the surrounding area helped them in this puja. The work of making the statue has been going on for a long month. The artisans of Siliguri Kumortuli are making Ganesha idols using bamboo sticks. They believe that this time their puja will surpass all other pujas in Siliguri.

Club secretary Debraj Pal said, “We have been doing this Ganesh puja for the last four years. Now I want to give the city residents a little joy of the Ganesh Puja of Maharashtra. So this huge idol is being made. Our puja will be auspiciously inaugurated on September 6.” During the few days of the puja, daily indulgences will be given, including providing services to the poor and needy. They also said that some other programs will be done. All arrangements will be made with the help of police administration to avoid crowding. They are hopeful that their puja will win the hearts of the townspeople.
