Mahindra has introduced its latest electric SUV, the XEV 9S, priced from ₹19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Offered in four trims—Pack One Above, Pack Two Above, Pack Three and Pack Three Above—the model is essentially the electric version of the XUV700. Test drives will begin on December 5, with bookings opening on January 14 and deliveries set to start from January 23 next year.
The XEV 9S, a practical three-row, seven-seat family EV, is positioned as a more usable alternative to the XEV 9e coupe-style SUV. Its starting price is about ₹2 lakh lower than the base XEV 9e. The entry-level Pack One Above variant is the most budget-friendly, starting at ₹19.95 lakh for the 59 kWh battery option, while the larger 79 kWh battery version costs ₹21.95 lakh. In comparison, the base XEV 9e with a 59 kWh battery is priced at ₹21.90 lakh.
Despite being the base trim, Pack One Above comes well-equipped, offering LED lighting, 18-inch aero alloys, a triple-screen layout with wireless smartphone connectivity and 5G, a panoramic sunroof, adjustable seating, six airbags, cruise control, TPMS, drowsiness detection, auto headlamps and wipers, climate control and rear AC vents.
