Major drug bust in Aizawl, 41 kg of meth seized

The Special Narcotics Police Station team under CID Crime, acting on a tip-off, conducted a successful operation in the Lungverh, Sakawrtuichhun area of Aizawl.

The operation led to the seizure of 41.234 kilograms of suspected cvmethamphetamine, with an estimated market value of ₹5.36 crore. Five individuals were arrested in connection with the haul:

Edenthara (27), son of Tlangthanga, Rihkhawdar, Myanmar (currently residing in Zemabawk, Aizawl)
Rochharliana (38), son of Sangtinkulha, Hruaikawn, Champhai District
Vanlalvunga (47), son of Vanlalmawia, Khuangleng, Champhai District
Nasir Uddin (34), son of Junab Ali, Karimganj, Assam
Anurul Haque (37), son of MD Abdul Rasid, Baghan, North Tripura
The suspects have been booked under Special Narcotics PS Case No. 35/24 dated September 3, 2024, under sections 22(c)/25/29(1) of the NDPS Act. The police have launched an investigation to trace the backward and forward linkages of this drug network.
