Makar Sankranti Celebrated in Arunachal as Devotees Throng Aakashi Ganga

The sacred festival of Makar Sankranti was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at Aakashi Ganga in Likabali in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Siang district on Wednesday. A large number of devotees, including pilgrims from neighbouring Assam, assembled at the holy site to take part in the festival. Coordinated efforts of the Malini Vikash Parishad and the district administration, Lower Siang, ensured smooth arrangements and a peaceful atmosphere for all devotees at the festival. Notably, additional police personnel were deployed at the site to maintain law and order and regulate traffic movement, ensuring proper crowd control and uninterrupted traffic flow throughout the area. Special arrangements were made for cordon management to avoid congestion at the sacred site. Ainstein Kyou, the incharge Deputy Commissioner, Lower Siang, along with Superintendent of Police, Gothombu Dajangju, visited the holy site and personally supervised the arrangements to ensure safety, security and overall vigilance during the festival. Keeping public health in mind, a medical aid stall was also set up at the site to provide immediate assistance to devotees when needed.The district administration expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of the festival and appreciated the cooperation of devotees, volunteers, and all line departments involved in making the event a success.
