Manik Saha pushes for better coordination to improve public Services

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday underlined the need for better inter-departmental coordination and widespread public awareness to ensure swift delivery of essential services. The remarks came during a high-level review meeting convened at Conference Hall No. 2 in the State Secretariat to assess the functioning of various departmental helpline portals, including the CM Helpline (1905).Calling the CM Helpline a critical communication bridge between the government and citizens, especially during emergencies, Dr. Saha urged officials to adopt a proactive and responsive approach to public grievances. “The CM Helpline 1905 must be seen as a lifeline for the people. Departments must work in tandem to act swiftly and sensitively,” he said.

He further emphasised the urgent need to increase public engagement with helpline services by launching targeted outreach campaigns, particularly in schools and colleges. “It is essential to make people aware of the utility of these helplines. Awareness drives at educational institutions will help instil early understanding of civic platforms,” the Chief Minister stated.The review included an in-depth analysis of departmental helpline performance, current limitations, and bottlenecks in grievance redressal mechanisms. Dr. Saha directed departments to minimise delays, streamline coordination, and ensure prompt response to citizen concerns.

Top state officials including Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Good Governance Secretary Kiran Gitte, Secretary Abhishek Singh, and DGP Anurag were present at the meeting. They discussed strategies to revamp the existing service models and address the digital and administrative challenges that slow down the helpline systems.The CM’s emphasis on synergy among departments and public engagement comes at a crucial time when digital governance and timely delivery of welfare services are becoming central to state administration. With the CM Helpline gaining traction, the focus now shifts to converting it into a more robust and dependable platform for citizens across the state.
