Manipal Hospitals has reaffirmed its long-standing healthcare commitment to Mizoram and the Northeastern states, highlighting over 15 years of clinical excellence and outreach. Following the integration of AMRI and Medica Superspecialty Hospitals, Manipal now operates five superspecialty hospitals in Kolkata, serving as a critical hub for advanced care in the region.
With more than 15,000 patients from Mizoram treated over the years and over 70 successful kidney transplants with a 95% success rate, Manipal Hospitals continues to expand its footprint. Through a partnership with Aizawl Hospital & Research Centre since 2017, the hospital has conducted outreach clinics in neurosurgery, respiratory medicine, orthopaedics, urology, nephrology, and endocrinology.
Experts like Dr. Debraj Jash emphasized the growing burden of respiratory illnesses, while Dr. Harsh Jain noted the increasing need for neurosurgical interventions. Dr. Kaushik Biswas highlighted the rise in lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, stressing the importance of regular OPDs and structured care.
Aizawl has responded positively to these efforts, with more residents opting for specialized consultations and follow-ups locally, reducing the need to travel outside the state. The visit also includes engagement with Civil Hospital and CME sessions with API Mizoram to foster clinical knowledge sharing.
