A massive Tiranga Abhiyaan Rally was organised in Khonsa on Thursday as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and the nationwide commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram.
The rally commenced at 7am, witnessing enthusiastic participation from more than 2,000 students, teachers and government officials.
The rally was led by Deputy Commissioner, Tirap, Badonlum Tawsik, in the presence of ADC Khonsa Namneet Singh, BJP Tirap Unit president Lankham Wangsu; BJP Tirap Unit secretary Wangto Hakhun; BJP Tirap Unit vice-president Shri Jiten Wangchha; principals, headmasters, Panchayat leaders, women’s associations and headmistresses of participating schools; and BJP karyakartas from different mandals of the district.
Students from six educational institutions participated in the rally through different routes, carrying the National Tricolour with pride and raising patriotic slogans.
Participating in the rally, Deputy Commissioner Tirap Badonlum Tawsik lauded the enthusiastic participation of students and teachers from all six schools. He appreciated their strong spirit of patriotism and said that the massive participation reflected their love and respect for the National Tricolour and their pride in being Indians.
The Deputy Commissioner also appreciated DACO, Bomyir Dirchi for organising a series of programmes since the launch of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, beginning with the Tiranga Abhiyaan Bullet Rally on August 9, 2026.
He urged all Heads of Departments (HoDs) to join hands with the DACO and the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) for the successful conduct of the week-long programmes, which will continue till 17th August, 2026.
The massive rally added further momentum to the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign in Tirap district, with students, teachers and officials coming together to celebrate the National Tricolour and reaffirm their patriotic spirit.
