On Monday the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) informed in its bulletin that the country registered 4,033 cases of Omicron. In the last 24 hours, 410 fresh cases on the new COVID-19 variant have been reported in India. Of the total Omicron cases recorded 2,481 are active and 1,552 have recovered or migrated.
Maharashtra continues to have the maximum number of Omicron cases in the country. The state has logged 1,216 cases of which 762 are active. In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra alone has reported 207 cases of Omicron, becoming the single largest state to report most number of cases. Rajasthan has also seen a spike in Omicron cases and now has surpassed Delhi to be the second state with most Omicron infections.
Delhi has so far reported 513 cases of new COVID strain. The capital still has an alarming 456 active cases of Omicron. Karnataka has logged 441 cases of which 415 are active and undergoing treatment. Kerala has reported 333 cases of which only 93 have recovered. Gujarat has reported 236 cases of Omicron, out of which 186 have recovered. Tamil Nadu that has registered 185 cases till date has no active case so far.
