Mimi Majumder highlights BJP’s role in women’s progress in Tripura

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha President Mimi Majumder stated that women in Tripura overwhelmingly support the BJP over the Left Front, citing the party’s efforts toward women’s empowerment and financial independence. Majumder made the remarks while addressing a Mahila Morcha mass gathering in Khowai District on February 24 under the 25 Khowai Mandal Mahila Morcha. She highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has introduced several welfare schemes aimed at empowering women, including:

Mudra Yojana for financial assistance to women entrepreneurs

Lakhpati Didi for boosting rural women’s income

33% reservation for women in Parliament and assemblies

“We had a detailed discussion on the Union Budget and how PM Modi’s vision prioritizes women’s financial empowerment. When a woman is empowered, it benefits her family, society, and the entire nation’s development,” Majumder said. She added that Tripura women want to erase the Left Front’s name from the state’s political landscape, as they believe the BJP government has consistently worked for their upliftment.

“With the enthusiasm we saw today, it is clear that the Left Front will disappear permanently in the upcoming elections, and BJP will continue its winning streak,” she asserted. A notification from the District Council and Minority Affairs Department has directed the LADC to hold a special session for a floor test within 30 days to confirm Zirsanga’s majority in the council. LADC is one of the three autonomous district councils in southern Mizoram, established in 1972 for the Lai people, with its headquarters in Lawngtlai.
