Mizoram CM Releases State Focus Paper 2026–27

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) hosted the State Credit Seminar 2026–27 in Mizoram, attended by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma, who released the State Focus Paper for the year. He highlighted the government’s collaboration with NABARD and the positive impact of its initiatives, including the nearing inauguration of the 10 MW Thenzawl Solar Power Plant funded by NABARD and plans for a new 5 MW project at Sumsuih. Additionally, he discussed the Chief Minister’s Rubber Mission, which aims to plant over 11,00,000 rubber saplings this year.

The Chief Minister referenced the latest NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Index, noting Mizoram’s progress and the top rankings of Hnahthial, Champhai, and Kolasib districts in the northeast. Emphasizing agricultural development’s importance in Mizoram, where about 80% of the population relies on agriculture, he urged banks to improve their services in remote areas, given the uneven distribution of the state’s 278 bank branches.

Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena delivered the keynote address, discussing government initiatives alongside NABARD and future challenges. The seminar included remarks from Pi Ramdinliani, Secretary of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, followed by an interactive discussion. NABARD’s Pi Pankaja Borah delivered the welcome address, and Pu Lalrokunga Chhakchhuak presented the State Focus Paper, which outlines a credit outlay of Rs. 4,349.71 crore for various sectors, allocating significant funds for Agriculture, MSMEs, Export Credit, Education, Housing, Social Infrastructure, and Renewable Energy.
