Mizoram economic growth reaches 15.92%, GSDP set to hit ₹35,575 crore

Mizoram has recorded impressive economic growth, with its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) projected to reach ₹35,575.54 crore in 2023-24, marking a robust 15.92% increase from ₹30,690.33 crore in 2022-23, according to the Economic Survey 2024-25 presented in the state assembly on Wednesday. Chief Minister Lalduhoma tabled the report, which highlights Mizoram’s transition from an agriculture-dominated economy to a more diversified structure driven by industrial and tertiary sectors.

Key Economic Indicators

GSDP Growth: At current prices, Mizoram’s economy is estimated to grow by 15.92% in 2023-24.

Constant Price Growth: At 2011-12 constant prices, the state is projected to record an 11.6% increase in GSDP.

Overall Economic Growth Rate: The state’s annual economic growth rate stands at 9.89% in 2023-24.

Structural Transformation & Economic Resilience

The economic survey attributes Mizoram’s growth momentum to structural changes, with increased contributions from industrial and services sectors. This diversification has bolstered economic resilience and recovery, ensuring sustained long-term progress.
