Preparations are underway for the inaugural NCC Fest and Parasailing Camp in Mizoram, scheduled from May 5 to 11. This initiative aims to foster youth empowerment and contribute to nation-building. Colonel Sagar K. Mohanty, the Commanding Officer of the 2 Mizo Battalion NCC, discussed recent advancements and the expansion of NCC activities in Mizoram with Chief Minister Lalduhoma. The Fest and Parasailing Camp, taking place in Lunglei, is expected to raise awareness about the NCC and motivate youth to participate. It is designed to instill discipline, confidence, and an adventurous spirit, guiding attendees toward responsible citizenship and active participation in the nation’s development.
The event will include interactive sessions featuring esteemed dignitaries and senior military officials, providing cadets and youth with meaningful exposure and motivation. Attendees can look forward to a variety of attractions, such as informative NCC stalls, weapon displays by the Border Security Force, Assam Rifles, and Territorial Army Battalion, interactions with NCC alumni, and exhibitions of local handloom and traditional crafts. Additionally, traditional food stalls will present the rich cultural heritage of Mizoram, making the event both educational and culturally enriching.
The Chief Minister praised Col. Mohanty’s visionary efforts, considering the initiative a crucial stride toward the holistic development and upliftment of the youth in Mizoram. He highlighted the important role of the NCC in nurturing character, leadership, and unity among the younger generation, and expressed his intention to attend the event, reflecting strong support for such initiatives. This landmark initiative represents a new chapter for NCC activities in Mizoram, establishing a dynamic platform to connect, inspire, and empower youth through innovation, adventure, and cultural pride.
