Mizoram Govt Urges Traditional Dress for Employees During Chapchar Kut Festival

The Mizoram government has issued a directive for its employees to don traditional Mizo attire in observance of the Chapchar Kut festival, which will take place statewide on March 13, 2026. This initiative aims to promote the cultural values and heritage of the Mizo community. All employees across various government departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Board, Bodies, and Agencies are encouraged to wear traditional Mizo dresses to work until March 12. The notification emphasizes that Administrative Heads and Heads of Departments should ensure this message is communicated to all staff. Chapchar Kut is Mizoram’s annual spring festival, celebrating Mizo culture through traditional dances, music, art, and cuisine, fostering community unity and heritage appreciation through various performances and festivities.
