The Mizoram State Level Police Conference, chaired by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, was held to review outcomes from the recent National Level DGP/IGP Conference, where 107 recommendations were made for modernizing Indian policing. The Chief Minister noted several recommendations are being implemented in Mizoram and discussed the necessity of Central Government support for further actions. He commended the Mizoram Police for reducing drug abuse and noted successful measures against arecanut trafficking, resulting in record local prices, while announcing new funding of Rs. 3.18 crore for police modernization.
