The Mizoram government has dismissed rumors of plans to sell or completely transfer the state-owned Lengpui Airport to the Indian Air Force (IAF), Chief Minister Lalduhoma’s Finance Adviser, TBC Lalvenchhunga, clarified on February 17. Addressing a party gathering, Lalvenchhunga emphasized that the government is only exploring collaboration with the IAF for modernizing the airport, located 32 km from Aizawl. “There is no intention of either selling or transferring the Lengpui airport. Mizoram poll panel announces elections to 88 VCs in Chakma council

 The Mizoram state election commission (SEC) on Friday announced elections to 88 village councils (VCs) within Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) in south Mizoram's Lawngtlai district. State election commissioner H. Lalthlangliana told a news conference here that the elections will be held on March 12 and counting of votes will take place as soon as polling is over.
