The Mizoram government suspended a transport officer on Thursday for giving driver's licenses unlawfully. The Central Young Mizo Association filed a complaint alleging that driving and learner licences were fraudulently issued by the Aizawl District Transport Office. According to an order issued by transport department secretary Lalengthanga Hnamte, the district transport officer has been suspended with immediate effect for alleged involvement in these illicit actions. The order also noted that disciplinary measures are being considered against Hnamte, and an investigation is underway.
