Mizoram Police has inaugurated a fitness lounge to improve the fitness of police personnel

The Mizoram Police Department on Monday inaugurated the state-wide fitness initiative “45 Minutes for All Ranks of Mizoram Police,” a new routine aimed at improving the physical and mental well-being of police personnel.

The programme, launched under the slogan “Train to Excel,” is spearheaded by the Home Minister and senior officers at PHQ. The inaugural event took place at the 1st Battalion MAP Playground in Armed Veng, Aizawl, as well as at all Armed Battalion headquarters and district capitals throughout Mizoram.

The launch in Aizawl was attended by Home Minister K. Sapdanga, who served as the Chief Guest, along with DGP Mizoram Anil Shukla, IPS, and other senior police officers. More than five hundred policemen participated in the launching parade.

In his address, Home Minister K. Sapdanga emphasized the critical importance of fitness for police personnel, highlighting the need for a healthy diet and proper nutrition. He declared that the launching parade marked the beginning of a fitness revival within the department and called upon senior officers to lead by example in this revival.

DGP Mizoram Anil Shukla, IPS, expressed his gratitude to the Home Minister for his commitment to improving the overall health and fitness of the police force. He encouraged all police personnel to maintain their fitness to meet the physical and mental demands of their duties and assured the Home Minister of the initiative’s continued implementation.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Lalbiakthanga Khiangte, IGP (L&O), followed by a 45-minute physical training (PT) parade, symbolizes the beginning of a new fitness regimen.
