Mizoram’s development boosted by DoNER support, Scindia reaffirms commitment

Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma convened a high-level review meeting in Aizawl today to evaluate and enhance the progress of developmental projects in the state. The meeting, held at the Planning & Programme Implementation Conference Hall, focused on advancing ongoing projects and addressing challenges that impact timely project delivery. Chief Minister Lalduhoma expressed gratitude for Scindia’s commitment and acknowledged the contributions of his late predecessor, Madhavrao Scindia, in furthering regional development.

“Mizoram’s progress depends heavily on the DoNER Ministry’s support, and while substantial strides have been made, there remains much to accomplish,” Lalduhoma said, emphasizing the ministry’s role in the state’s growth. Scindia reiterated the central government’s commitment to Mizoram, describing the collaboration between the state and the DoNER Ministry as a strong foundation for future projects. “It is essential for us to work closely to ensure that Mizoram continues on its development path,” he stated.

Senior Economic Adviser Dr. Md. Nazmuddin outlined strategies to expedite project completion, focusing on welfare-oriented planning to improve living standards across Mizoram. Additionally, Planning Commissioner Vanlaldina Fanai assured enhanced coordination between the Mizoram government and DoNER for effective project execution.
