Mizoram’s Home Minister K. Sapdanga joins police stations for Christmas cake-cutting

Mizoram celebrated Christmas on Wednesday with a spirit of peace and community. Churches across the state, from various denominations, held serene services featuring uplifting sermons by pastors, traditional hymns performed by choirs, and warm gatherings with tea and snacks for attendees after the services.

The state capital, Aizawl, remained calm and peaceful throughout Christmas Eve and the following day, with no reports of street violence or accidents, according to local police. In a gesture of goodwill, Mizoram’s Home Minister K. Sapdanga visited several police stations across the city, culminating in a Christmas cake-cutting ceremony at the main Aizawl Police Station shortly after midnight, symbolizing unity and celebration.

While some churches hosted Christmas feasts on Wednesday, the majority have scheduled their celebratory meals for December 26, extending the festive cheer into the next day.
