Delhi recorded its first monkeypox case, and India’s fourth, on Sunday with a 34-year-old man checking out fine for the virus that is spreading across the world.
The patient, a resident of west Delhi’s Paschim Vihar has no history of travel to nations affected by using the disease, in contrast to the three cases pronounced from Kerala, officers said.
The man had taken a holiday to Himachal Pradesh final month with male friends. Soon after, he developed fever but unnoticed the signs and symptoms at the beginning wondering it was triggered via seasonal changes, sources said.
However, when the fever didn’t subside for a week and pores and skin lesions appeared at a number of places, the man visited a health practitioner and a skin professional before being referred to Lok Nayak hospital – the distinct centre for isolation and administration of suspected and established cases of monkeypox in the capital.
