More than 4000 vaccinated in Mokokchung, Wokha: Nagaland

More than 4000 beneficiaries received shots in the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive in Mokokchung and Wokha. 

In Mokokchung, 3364 were vaccinated, where 197 beneficiaries alone have been vaccinated within this week. 

The vaccination of citizens above 60 years and those citizens within the age group 45-59 years with co morbidity is currently underway and the citizens can avail the same at Immunization Room, District Hospital, IMDH, Mokokchung on three weekdays Monday to Wednesday, from 10am to 4pm. 

Beneficiaries have been informed to carry a photo ID for registration (Aadhar, Electoral Photo ID, Pensioners ID, Driving license, PAN Card etc.).

According to heath department, citizens within the age group 45-59 years with co-morbidities/diseases can avail vaccination only after producing/uploading certification of co-morbidity signed by a registered medical practitioner, in addition to photo ID card. Self registration can be done at CO-WIN App, Arogya Setu App or log on to cowin.gov.in using your mobile number. 

Onsite registration can also be availed at the session site. All beneficiaries have been asked to wear mask, sanitize hands at entry and strictly maintain 2-meter physical distancing.

Wokha: Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Wokha, W.Tungoe while presenting the status of COVID-19 vaccination in the district at Wokha DPDB meeting, said that altogether 1399 persons including health care workers, frontline workers, (45-59) years of age persons having co-morbidities and 60 years and above has so far taken the first dose and 526 people have taken the second dose of vaccine in the district.

On the HIV and AIDS scenario from April 2020 to February 2021, the department of health & family welfare said that the district have tested 4,236 persons and 36 were tested positive, DIPR report stated. The meeting also deliberated on medalling of DRDA road from Liphayan to Jonopur under the department of DRDA and development of public park at Tsumang lake under fisheries and aquatic department and was recommended for onward submission to higher authority for approval. The meeting was chaired by vice chairman DPDB Wokha and DC, Orenthung Lotha.

Sensitisation on COVID vaccine  

Meanwhile, the first round of sensitization sessions for third phase COVID19 vaccination roll out for the age-appropriate groups of 60years above and 45-59 years co morbidity conditions culminated covering all the eleven wards in Mon. 

The team led by DC Mon, Thavaseelan K; MO Phomching, Dr. Chenjei, MO Shangnyu, Dr Penjei and MO SHP, Dr Elizabeth ensured  maximum level of knowledge and clear the doubts of the citizens on the vaccine. 

Meanwhile, DC urged the IEC wing to get activated and cover every block with immense support for the people by disseminating right information and clearing every doubts and myths and misconception. 

The team will also carry out the session in the required wards.
