International Mother Language Day was commemorated at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commissions in Guwahati and Agartala with several programs on February 21. In Guwahati, the event, starting at 10 am, included wreath-laying at the Shaheed Minar by Assistant High Commissioner Zikrul Hasan Fahad, chorus singing of Ekushey February songs, and an afternoon discussion alongside an Iftar gathering featuring messages from the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh. In Agartala, the day began with the national flag at half-mast, floral tributes paid by Assistant High Commissioner Hasan Al Bashar Abdul Ulayee, and readings of messages from various leaders. The program also featured special prayers, a documentary screening, and a cultural program with student performances, concluding with wreath-laying and a discussion at the High Commission office.
