The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam Rifles to supply about 458 quintals of mustard oil. 2.71 crore during 2022-23.
According to sources, there was also a directive from Amit Shah to support the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage local products.
KVIC Chairman Manoj Kumar thanked the Home Minister for his initiative and said that this is the second time that KVIC has signed an agreement with the paramilitary forces for supply of any material.
The Home Minister also added that there is a need to sell local produce through CAPF canteens across India.
