Naharlagun Hosts Arunachal Fashion Week 2026 as Artisans Movement Turns Five

The Arunachal Fashion Week 2026, held at Interior Park, Naharlagun, began with the “AFW Night of Opulence,” celebrating indigenous textiles and contemporary fashion from March 14-21, 2026. Organized by the Department of Textile & Handicrafts, it marks the five-year anniversary of the Artisans’ Movement aimed at uniting weavers, designers, and creative professionals while fostering a sustainable ecosystem for local fashion. Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated the event, highlighting the significance of local heritage and government initiatives to support sericulture and creative industries. The opening showcased a fusion of traditional and contemporary designs from various regional designers and weavers, featuring events to promote market opportunities for artisans. A Design & Lifestyle Exhibition accompanied the runway shows. The week includes further showcases and culminates with Cultural Heritage Day and the Arunachal Fashion Week Awards Night on March 21, honoring local craftsmanship and creativity.
