National Clinical Management protocol based on Ayurveda and Yoga for the management of Covid-19 released

The “National Clinical Management Protocol based on Ayurveda and Yogafor the management of Covid-19”, a mile stone in the rapidly evolving scenario of Covid- 19 responses in the country, was released by jointly by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences and ShriShripadYessoNaik, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of AYUSH and Minister of State for Defence on 6th October 2020 at New Delhi.

In this regard, a press meet was held on 06.10.2020 at Institute Incharge chamber of Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Gastro Intestinal Disorders, Barsojai, Beltola, Guwahati

The significance of the National Clinical Management Protocol based on Ayurveda and Yogafor the management of Covid-19 is that it ends the ambiguity around deploying Ayurveda and Yoga- based solutions for the clinical management of Covid- 19.

Explaining the importance of these guidelines Dr. B. Venkateshwarlu, R.O. (Ay), Incharge of RARIGID, Guwahati has informed that the protocol brings uniformity and Consistency and Clear guidance to practitioners of Ayurveda and Yoga in the management of Covid-19 patients. The protocol consists separate management guidelines for prophylactic care, asymptomatic Covid 19 positive cases, mildCovid 19 positive cases and for post Covid management. He further stated that the protocol helps the State Govt. to plan and incorporate these solutions into Covid-19 management which will beneficial to the public and these are easily assessable and help to alleviate the Covid-19 conditions.

The protocol is expected to contribute to the mainstreaming of Ayush solutions for the management of Covid-19, and will be immensely beneficial to the public since these solutions are easily accessible and will help to alleviate the hardships brought in by the pandemic.
