National workshop on ‘economic livelihood’: Nagaland

Zisaji Presidency College (ZPC), Kiphire organised two-day national workshop on “economic livelihood of youth” on February 25 and 26. The workshop programme was sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.

In a press release by ZPC, Kiphire, convener, media & publicity cell stated that RGNIYD director, Prof. Dr. Sibnath Deb graced the inaugural programme as chief guest while Prof. Vasanthi Rajendram from RGNIYD was the chief guest for the valedictory programme.  At the technical sessions SBI, Kiphire accounts officer Dheeraj Gurung spoke on the topic “start up, stand up, make in India & Mudra scheme of government of India” while DIC Kiphire functional manager, N. Zuben Odyuo spoke on the topic “developing SSI in Nagaland”.

Computer instructor, Xavier Sangtam spoke on “basic computer skills & social networking for entrepreneurship” and maj Vishal Venugopal from 7AR Kiphire presented a PowerPoint on “career in armed forces”.

Later, KVK Kiphire senior scientist, N Khumdemo Ezung spoke on the topic “integrated farming as a livelihood option”. 

Meanwhile, on the second day of the workshop , speakers of the technical session were former dean, SSS, NU, prof. Nigamananda Das who spoke on the topic “effective language use & soft skills” and NU department of commerce assistant professor, Dr. Jasojit Debnath spoke on “entrepreneurship development”.

NU department of commerce assistant professor, Dr. Amarnath Kumar presented a topic on “preparation & maintenance of accounts and formulation of project” and the final session was concluded by DFO, Kiphire, Rajesh Kumar who spoke on the topic “career in public & private sectors, forest and environment” and principal in charge, Dr. Purna Chandra Mishra, presented the report.

Altogether there were nine technical sessions where 120 students participated.
