NCC white water rafting course concludes successfully at Bhalukpong

The White Water Rafting Course organized by the 2 AP Battalion NCC in collaboration with the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS) culminated at the Kameng River in Bhalukpong. The Group Commander from NCC Group Headquarter Tezpur visited the camp, praising the cadets’ enthusiasm and emphasizing the importance of adventure activities for building confidence, resilience, and teamwork. Fifty cadets from the NER Directorate completed the intensive 10-day training, which included rigorous white water rafting instruction. Participants learned essential skills such as handling rafting equipment, river navigation, safety protocols, rescue drills, and river hazard identification, under the guidance of experienced NIMAS instructors. Beyond rafting, cadets engaged in a short trek to Phinjuli and toured the Tippi Orchid Research Centre, enhancing their understanding of local biodiversity. This course not only developed their confidence and leadership abilities but also fostered teamwork, resilience, and a commitment to environmental awareness, providing a unique adventure experience.
