Neeraj Vyas to leave Sony Pictures Networks India, embark on new ventures

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) announced today that Neeraj Vyas, Business Head of Sony Entertainment Television, Sony SAB, PAL, and Sony MAX Movie Cluster, will exit the company effective August 31, 2024. Vyas, after nearly three decades of shaping SPNI’s key businesses, is set to pursue an entrepreneurial journey.

Starting in sales for Sony Entertainment Television (SET), Vyas quickly rose to National Sales Head in 2005 and was appointed Executive Vice President for Sony MIX in 2010. By 2011, he led Sony MAX, then Sony SAB and Sony PAL in 2017, and Sony Entertainment Television in 2023. Under his leadership, Sony SAB transformed into a premium brand with a revitalized content strategy.

N.P. Singh, Managing Director and CEO of SPNI, praised Vyas’s contributions, noting, “Neeraj’s vision and leadership have been pivotal in transforming our entertainment channels into market leaders.” Reflecting on his tenure, Vyas stated, “My time at SPNI has been an incredible journey filled with learning and growth. I am excited to explore new entrepreneurial ventures.” From a Kolkata market perspective, Vyas’s departure is significant. Under his leadership, SPNI’s channels, including Sony AATH, the Bangla entertainment channel, achieved substantial growth and market share, reinforcing SPNI’s regional influence.Sony Pictures Networks India, part of Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited, reaches over 700 million viewers in India and operates in 167 countries, remaining a dominant player in the media industry.
