Prime Minister Modi is all set to unveil a 28-foot statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose near Delhi’s India Gate on Thursday. The jet black granite statue is carved from a single block of granite weighing 280 metric tons.

A crew of sculptors spent 26,000 man-hours of “intense inventive endeavor” to carve the grand statue of Netaji. According to the subculture ministry, the statue is completely “hand sculpted with the use of traditional techniques and modern tools” with the aid of a team of sculptors led with the aid of Arun Yogiraj.
