On Sunday, Mizoram Governor, General Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), inaugurated the second edition of PNB Soldierathon 2026, organized by Punjab National Bank and the Indian Armed Forces to commemorate the bank’s 132nd Foundation Day. The event, under the theme “Run For Soldiers,” took place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, attracting over 27,000 participants. General Singh commended the Soldierathon for emphasizing the importance of physical fitness and health, linking it to the Fit India Campaign. He noted the initiative’s role in educating the public on maintaining a strong and healthy body and suggested that disseminating this message could benefit society as a whole. The marathon included three race categories: a 21.1 km Half Marathon, a 10 km Run, and a 5 km Run, with a cumulative prize pool of Rs 19.5 lakh, aiming to honor soldiers and promote fitness at all levels.
