With rising international travel demand from eastern India, Turkish Airlines’ newly launched European lounge at Edinburgh Airport is expected to add fresh value for Kolkata-based passengers flying through Istanbul. The airline, known for its extensive global connectivity, unveiled its eighth lounge outside Türkiye on December 10, reflecting its expanding focus on premium travel services.
The 149-seater lounge offers a buffet with Turkish specialties, a luxury relaxation area, prayer rooms, baby-care facilities and flight information displays. It is located near Gate 16 at Edinburgh Airport and is accessible to Business Class travellers, Miles&Smiles Elite and Elite Plus members, and select credit-card holders.
Turkish Airlines COO M. AkifKonar said the lounge demonstrates the airline’s continued investment in Europe, reinforcing its position as the continent’s leading carrier. Edinburgh Airport officials added that the space enhances the airport’s premium service offering and provides scenic runway views. For Kolkata travellers connecting through Istanbul to the UK, Europe or long-haul destinations, the new lounge expands the airline’s high-end touchpoints. Travel agents in Kolkata note that Turkish Airlines remains a popular option among premium and corporate flyers due to its network strength and competitive pricing.
