The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a search operation in Tripura’s Sepahijala district to nab Anwar Hossain, who is wanted in connection with alleged anti-national activities. A special NIA team, assisted by personnel from Bishalgarh police station, carried out the operation at the parental house of the accused at the Karoi Mura area under Bishalgarh subdivision. However, he could not be found during the search. The search was carried out after a special NIA court in Guwahati issued an arrest warrant against Hossain. As part of the operation, the joint team searched the house and questioned the accused’s father, Manik Mia. According to the sources, the operation was part of the agency’s ongoing investigation into the case and further action would be taken based on fresh inputs.
