Nissan global EV sales surpass1-million-unit

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announces that its global sales of electric vehicles have surpassed the 1 million unit milestone. Nissan LEAF, launched in December 2010, has sold over 650,000 units globally in 50 markets, including Japan, the US, and Europe. Highly regarded by customers, it has won numerous awards in multiple markets.

In 2022, Nissan started sales of the Nissan Ariya all-electric crossover. Nissan’s Ariya boasts advanced technologies like e-4ORCE all-wheel control and ProPILOT2.0 river support. Its sophisticated design won the Auto Color Award 2021 Grand Prix in Japan and the Red Dot Design Award in Germany, and was named Wards 10 Best Interiors & UXlist.  Also in 2022, Nissan launched the Sakura; its first EV in the Japanese mini vehicle market. The 50,000-unit vehicle boasts cabin quietness, smooth acceleration, spacious interior design, and ample daily driving range, attracting 50,000 orders.

Sakura has won three prestigious awards in Japan, including the 2022-2023 Japan Car of the Year, 2023 RJC Car of the Year, and 2023 JAHFA Car of the Year, for its contribution to electrification momentum. Under its Nissan Ambition 2030 long-term vision, Nissan plans to launch 19 EVmodels by fiscal year 2030.The company plans to launch all-solid-state EVs by fiscal year 2028 and expand its global EV lineup to cater to diverse customer needs.
