Nissan prepares for India resurgence with seven-seater GRAVITE launch in 2026

Nissan Motor India announced that its upcoming seven-seater B-MPV will be called GRAVITE and is scheduled for launch in early 2026. The MPV will be produced at the Renault-Nissan facility in Chennai and marks the first major rollout under Nissan’s refreshed model pipeline aimed at regaining ground in the Indian passenger market. According to the company, the GRAVITE draws inspiration from the concept of gravity, symbolising balance, stability and appeal. Nissan said the vehicle has been engineered with modular seating, increased cabin flexibility and intuitive storage, responding to the needs of evolving Indian households. The company explained that family mobility trends have strengthened demand for vehicles with multi-row configurations and versatile road handling.

Nissan said the GRAVITE follows ongoing export success for the Magnite, reinforcing India’s strategic role as a manufacturing and export base. Company leaders confirmed that after the GRAVITE, Nissan will introduce the Tekton SUV in mid-2026 and a seven-seater C-SUV in early 2027, expanding offerings for India.

The company also confirmed nationwide dealership expansion, particularly in Tier-II and Tier-III cities. Specifications and pricing details will be released closer to the launch.
