NLC India signs pact with Rajasthan govt for 300 MW solar power supply

NLC India(formerly, Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited) has inked an agreement on 17th of August with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam at Jaipur for the supply of 300 MegaWatt solar power under the CPSU scheme. It will be in continuation for the next 25 years.

“The company has secured 510 MW solar project capacity in the CPSU Scheme Phase-II Tranche-III, floated by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency through competitive bidding,” it added.

As per the ministry of coal, the project is under process at Barsingsar, Bikaner district, Rajasthan.

The project will help generate 750 Million Units(MU) of power per year and the amount of green Power produced will be supplied to Rajasthan .”The project will help Rajasthan in meeting their Renewable Purchase Obligation targets. The power generated from the project will help in reduction of carbon emission to the tune of 0.726 Million Tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year,” the NLC said.
