Recently Glennys Lynrah scored four goals as Nongrim Hills SC smashed Mawkhar SC 7-2 in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2023 at First Ground, Polo, on Monday. Actually this was the highest-scoring match in the First Division since July 2019 when Sawmer SC demolished Nongkrem SC 9-2.
In reality Glennys scored all four of his goals in the first half – in the 8th, 12th, 40th and 44th minutes – and there was another by Daman Kyrpang Tariang (19′) to make it 5-0 at the break. Further goals by Alem Khongwir (76′) and Justerwell Tham (80′) added to Mawkhar’s misery, but they were able to find a couple of consolation strikes via Banteiskhem Iawphniaw (85′, 88′). Nongrim continue to lead the points table with a full 12 from four games. This is actually good that people are taking football seriously and new players are coming who are making the team strong. People should watch football and give encouragement to the players so that they play well.
