An employee of the North Bengal State Transport Corporation first spotted the fire in a parked bus last night. When the fire department was informed, a fire engine arrived at the spot and brought the fire under control. The fire department’s initial estimate was that the fire was caused by a short circuit. North Bengal State Transport Corporation Chairman Partha Pratim Roy has ordered an investigation into the entire incident.
