NSCN (I-M), DVC condemn raid by Assam Rifles

NSCN (I-M) has expressed resentment over the recent raid on the residence of Kishore Jeedung of Dhansiripar village on February 10.

NSCN (I-M) through its MIP stated that the “freewheeling nature of operations by the ubiquitous Assam Rifles (AR) targeting NSCN” was becoming an eye sore of the Indo-Naga ceasefire.

Stating that recklessly giving the stamp of identity as NSCN against any arrested anti-social elements was a matter of great indignation for the NSCN, the release said that the “smear campaign indulged by AR against NSCN” was going on without any restraint.

NSCN (I-M) further stated that the armed forces charged him with baseless allegation of involvement in the recent DHD new and old DHD clashes in Assam. However, the Dhansiripar Village Council (DVC) testified that Kishore Jeedung was not a person to be involved in such criminal activities as they knew him well.

DVC: Dhansiripar Village Council (DVC) has also expressed resentment over the recent raid on the residence of Kishore Jeedung of Dhansiripar village by a combined team of Assam rifles (Doyapur camp) including Assam Police and Black Panthers with sophisticated arms deployed at Dhansiri Police outpost, Karbi Anglong Assam.

Maintaining that the raid was conducted without any valid reason, VCC Dhansiripar, Joydwaj Hasnu and secretary, village council Dhansiripar, Thangfen Jigdung stated that   Kishore who hailed from the village, was not involved with any crimes or antisocial activities in any manner.

Further, DVC pointed out that Dimasas of Nagaland and Karbi Anglong, Assam were neighbours and had fraternal relations since time immemorial.
