A meeting of the District Monitoring Committee for the Bana Kaih Scheme was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall in Mamit district to review the progress of the government programme and discuss upcoming activities.According to an official statement issued on March 6, 2026, the meeting was chaired by Pi Carolyn LB Khiangte, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mamit.During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of effective implementation of the Bana Kaih Scheme, which has been identified as one of the flagship programmes of the government. She urged all concerned line departments to take the scheme seriously and ensure that the work is carried out properly on the ground.
Khiangte also asked the departments to work closely with their progress partners so that the scheme can be implemented smoothly. She further said that if any department faces difficulties while carrying out the programme, they should work together to find solutions and address the issues in time.The meeting also discussed the distribution of benefits under the Chief Minister’s Special Package Phase II, which is scheduled to be held on March 12, 2026. Officials from the line departments were asked to inform their progress partners about the programme and ensure their presence during the distribution event.
In addition, the committee discussed plans to organise a district-level workshop on the Handholding Scheme on March 16, 2026. Departments concerned were asked to prepare properly for the workshop and fulfil their responsibilities to ensure that the programme is conducted successfully.
