Recently Security forces on this Wednesday rescued an individual who was abducted for ransom in between Kanglatongbi to Awang Sekmai under Sekmai police station. Actually the rescued person has been identified as Rajkumar alias Lala (18), son of Malik of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh but presently residing at Saikul Bazar. As per the information received here, Rajkumar was abducted by some unknown miscreants and contacted his father to bring Rs 20 lakh for his release. In fact worried about safety of his child, the father went to Kanglatongbi but could not meet the miscreants as the mobile remained unattended.
Moreover, his parents had been keeping the information very confidential without reporting to the police as they feared threat on their son’s life. However, 22 AR Saikul Company Commander got the input from a local source and then immediately swung into action to save an innocent life. In reality with the coordinated and persistent efforts of 22 AR with Kangpokpi and Imphal West police, the team finally rescued the individual around 6 pm, it added.
