Asam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma addressing the media said, “The Opposition demanded that PM Modi should speak on Manipur and when he started speaking they walked out. That completely exposed their design that the intention of the opposition had nothing to do with Manipur. They just wanted to disrupt the Parliament; PM Modi spoke from his heart. He also showed his affection for the people of Manipur. As a principal party, they should have listened to Prime Minister’s speech till the last.”

He also slammed Rahul Gandhi for asking to intervene Indian Army, CM said, “Indian Air Force did the same thing in Aizawl. Violence was coming down after the bombing. Today Rahul Gandhi said the Indian Army should stop the violence in Manipur. That means what? They should open fire on civilians? Is this his prescription? How can he say that? Army will not be able to solve anything. They will only be able to quite the situation for the time being and bring temporary peace. The solution has to come from the heart, not from the bullet.”
