On Wednesday, All Assam Students’ Union ‘AASU’ has called for protest against Citizenship Amendment Act which is to be implemented in the nation during Lok Sabha elections.
According to the sources, the students union will be holding ‘satyagraha’ in all districts. The organization will take torchlight procession in several parts of the state.
Amidst the tension, several opposition parties, organizations have undertaken protest against the act. Earlier, Director General of Police G P Singh, ”Notices were served by the Assam Police to ensure that there is no damage to public property and risk to life of the people through any forceful agitation in the state.”
Meanwhile, security forces have been tightened in the state by the police across the state, calculation within the sensitive areas.
