Pakistan Army Chief’s message of Peace to India

So is the ice melting? Two days ago, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan gave a message of peace to India. Imran said both India and Pakistan should help each other. The Prime Minister reminded that india will be likely to benefit economically if it has good relations with Pakistan, and if necessary, India will also be allowed to do business with Central Asia using its own land.

This time the same tone was heard on the face of Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajo. The US has been trying to increase its allies with India since the new President was appointed. The United States has turned away from China. India’s strategic bid to establish security in South Asia is rising. A few days ago, US President Joe Biden showed interest in axis quads in four countries, India, USA, Japan and Australia.

Usually, whoever sits in the chair of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the army has remote control. So under pressure, the officials of South Block feel that Pakistan’s love for India has been awakened. The Pak army chief said the dispute between the two countries is around Kashmir. It is the duty of the two countries to find a peaceful solution. Peace will not return to the subcontinent unless the Kashmir issue is resolved. New Delhi has not shown goodwill even as Pakistan has repeatedly wanted to sit at the negotiating table with India.

It may be recalled that in mid-February, the Government of India had said that India wanted good relations with Pakistan as a neighbour. But Pakistan is using its own land in anti-India activities. It didn’t help again and again. Moreover, Pakistan is not able to infiltrate militants into India through Kashmir or other borders at the moment. Rather India’s experience of Pakistan is like seeing a cloud in Sindoor. So India is not ready to be influenced by the message of Imran or the Pak army chief.
