Panchayat elections in Keyi Panyor district concluded peacefully with active voter turnout

All six Zilla Parishad segments in the Keyi Panyor district of Arunachal Pradesh held peaceful and incident-free Panchayat elections. 46 voting places in all ran smoothly, demonstrating excellent administrative cooperation and efficient security control. According to officials, there were no significant unpleasant incidents reported from any section of the district, and the election process remained calm throughout the day. Voters were able to exercise their right to vote in a secure setting thanks to a strong police presence and vigilant surveillance.

With assistance from Deputy District Election Officer and Superintendent of Police Angad Mehta, IPS, the polls were overseen by District Election Officer Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta, IAS. Maintaining law and order, especially in places deemed sensitive, was greatly aided by security measures headed by the district police. Polling parties, presiding officers, returning and assistant returning officers, sector magistrates, sector police officers, and police personnel—including those assigned on short notice—were recognized for their contributions by the district election administration.

Additionally, nodal officials, the district police apparatus, and the electoral branch headed by the ADC-cum-Deputy DEO were thanked for carrying out their duties with accuracy and professionalism. Despite early worries about complexity in some areas, officials observed that close coordination between the police and civil administration prevented any escalation. The district administration also acknowledged that the cooperative efforts of candidates and political parties contributed to the peaceful polling environment. On December 20, 2025, starting at 8:00 am, votes will be counted in the Indoor Badminton Stadium.
