Now, several organizations and political groups in Assam have organized a 12-hour bandh in opposition to the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) delimitation draft proposal.
The ECI has released a draft outlining the delimitation plans for Assam’s 126 assembly seats and 14 Lok Sabha seats on June 20. The proposal includes renaming certain parliamentary and assembly constituencies, as well as redrawing their boundaries.
