If their demands are not fulfilled by the state administration, the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Health Engineering & Water Supply Department Workers Union has declared a three-day tool-down strike from December 5 to 7. Tadar Dowa, the union’s president, made this announcement at a press conference on Wednesday at the Arunachal Press Club. Many workers who have worked with the company for more than 30 to 40 years have not been regularized or promoted, he continued. He stated that, in accordance with seniority, temporary and contract employees who have worked for the department for more than 15 years ought to be regularized.
He drew attention to the fact that the PHE department has not followed suit, but employees in other departments are being regularized. In order to accomplish a one-time regularization for all casual staff based on seniority, particularly for those with 15 years of service, the union had made an appeal to the Minister of PHED & WS. “The majority of casual staff members have been denied any benefits from their jobs since they joined,” Tadar added. The state government has been encouraged by the union to take their requests seriously. Tadar added that the state government was given an ultimatum on June 24 of this year, but as of right now, there has been no discernible reaction.
