PhonePe, a digital wallet and online payment app has upgraded the voice feature of its SmartSpeaker by setting the voice of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.
From now onwards users of PhonePe SmartSpeakers can authenticate the payments made by customers with a distinct voice of the actor. At present the voice is available in only two languages Hindi and English attempts are being made to roll out this feature with other languages as well.
Speaking about this unique new feature, Vivek Lohcheb, Head of Offline Business at PhonePe said, “We are delighted to launch a unique celebrity voice feature for our SmartSpeaker for merchant partners across India. Mr. Bachchan’s voice has an instant and universal recall, and it resonates with millions of Indians across the country. Being a popular Indian app used by one in four Indians, we believe this collaboration will further elevate the popularity of the PhonePe SmartSpeaker for merchants and customers alike.”
Here’s the guide to enable the new voice feature:
Step 1: First go to the PhonePe for Business App
Step 2: Then open the SmartSpeaker section on the home screen
Step 3: Go to ‘My SmartSpeaker’, click on ‘SmartSpeaker Voice’
Step 4: Select Amitabh Bachchan’s voice in the language you want
Step 5: Click on ‘Confirm’ to set the voice
Step 6: Device gets rebooted with the selected language in Bachchan’s voice within a few hours
